Since I was a little kid, I dreamed of serving a mission. I listened to countless stories growing up as my dad recalled his time serving a mission in Portugal. In 2014, my brother Derek returned from serving a full-time mission in Brazil. Their experiences made an impression on me and as I graduated high school, I started to seriously prepare.

Leaving for two years to serve was an easy decision, but I will admit it was hard saying goodbye to my family and friends. For the next 24 months, I will only be able to contact friends/family through email once a week. Despite the sacrifices, I know that I will be able to act as a tool in the Lord’s hands. I’m so excited to teach the people of Mexico and help them come unto Christ.

I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel for all of us to enjoy today. I know President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God on earth today. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I know that he died for all of us so that we could have the opportunity to return to our Father in Heaven. Lastly, I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true.

I will see you all in 2!
